It was believed she was then going to head towards Leigh Woods to sketch and take photographs.
Police were called when she failed to collect her children from school later that day.
A man had called the police and told them that Morgan's body was in the Hanham river but after searching the river, police concluded the call to be a hoax.

Status: Unsolved
Shelley Morgan's case was re-opened in June 2024 but no progress has been made.

26 year old Lloyd Simpson was found dead in his East London flat by his father on 7th November 1983. He had been shot twice, in his face and stomach. Police believe he had been murdered on 5th November, possibly so the sounds of fireworks going off for Guy Fawkes night would mask the gunshots.

(note: for the Crimewatch reconstruction, the part of Lloyd Simpson was played by actor Patrick Murray, best known for playing Mickey Pearce in Only Fools and Horses)
